Good hair oils we all need
Hi guys
Finally another lifestyle blog. Hairstyling is still my main focus, obviously, so I needed to blog about hairs once again, right?! In this post, you'll learn everything about oils that are good for your hair. There are a lot of oils that are really good for your hair, but I'll focus on my personal faves.
SHEA BUTTER has many benefits for hair and skin such as extra moisturizing, anti-inflammatory effects and anti-aging effects. The anti-aging effects come from within the hair. If your hair is nourished, it'll be stronger. With stronger hair, your color will stay in longer and will only turn to grey at a later point in the life of the hair!
Shea butter is also perfect for a dry or even itchy scalp or to help dandruff. Dandruff is a skin condition that comes from a dry scalp. Nourish your scalp and already a lot of dandruff will go away. Read more about how to get rid of dandruff in this post.
After all of these great effects, it also seems to be perfect for taming frizzy, curly hair. Frizzy hair happens when you have curly hair but your hair is very dry. The curls can't shape properly because the hair lost the original strength. When your hair is bouncy and not "stiff", it's strong. When your hair is strong, it'll keep a good curly shape.
CASTOR OIL works perfect for helping the reduction of hair loss. You can put castor oil on your hair roots, to nourish them. What happens when you loose your hair, is that the hair loses the attachement from the hair follicle in the hair root and that it falls off. Normally, a new hair will grow back, from the exact same follicle. When you get older, some follicles will "die" and won't create new hairs. This doesn't happen overnight. It's a slow process. Castor oil won't get the lost hairs back, but it can make this process go a bit slower though.
It's also great for pre-mature greying of hair. This is actually the same process as with the hairloss. When the hairs are stronger, the color will last longer. When your hair turns to grey, this is actually what happens: the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin as before and will have a more transparent color. This color can be white or grey.
Castor oil also fights scalp related problems. When you have a good scalp, your hair will grow faster. So another awesome side effect of castor oil is that it will help accelerating your hair growth. You can massage the castor oil onto your scalp. Massaging your scalp will stimulate hairgrowth as well.
ARGAN OIL then. This is an oil from Morocco. This bottle of oil is from Mijn argan, a Belgian argan oil brand. Argan oil is a great moisturizer and really helps taming frizzy curly hair. Know these Moroccan ladies with perfectly shaped curls, well, their secret is Moroccan oil or Argan oil.
It's also great to prevent hair from breakage. When you nourish your hair every day with a bit of oil, it will stay stronger and by this it will only split at a later stage in the life of the hairstrand.
TEA TREE OIL works perfect for dandruff or an intchy scalp. It has great benefits also to stimulate blood flow. This will help your hair grow faster. I'm not sure if it will actually work, but it's worth the shot, right?
So, these were my personal fave oils. I don't wear hair oil in my hair everyday, but I like hairmasks with oils. I do them once a week. For a daily use, I like to use leave in conditioners because I have very thin hair. Oils can make my hair a bit greasy. If you have thicker hair, a daily oil can be fine!
